Immerse yourself in the sounds, sights, smells, and tastes of 14th century England in this midwinter candle-lit carol service. Bible readings are read in Middle English from the translation by John Wycliffe (1328 -1384). Medieval carols, in both Middle English and Latin, are performed by Concordian Dawn with period instruments. Carols are sung by the assembled company in both Early Mondern English and Latin.
The Carols are followed by a reception of wassail or ypocras (warm spiced drinks) in Revelation Gallery (or around the Christmas Tree is weather permits!).
All is, of course, free, but registration here is very helpful for catering purposes.
You must be fully vaccinated to attend, but face-coverings are optional.
If you feel inclined to come in medieval attire, please feel free to do so!
