Bodnar For 50 years of service to God, The Bayard Street Presbyterian Church, and the Community Hebrews 13:7 Remember your leaders, those who spoke the word of God to you; consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. In 2020, Reverend Bodnar celebrated 50 years at the Bayard Street Presbyterian Church. 50 years dedicated to the congregation, the community and to God. He has spent his time, energy and love spreading God’s love and word to anyone he came in contact with. He didn’t just do it with his words, but with his action. He started handing out food one day to those in need. Just a table, some food, and the desire to help. This spread into a monthly food program, backpacks for children, coat drives, toy drives and so much more. If not for his leadership and deep devotion to God, none of this would have happened. For 52 years now, he can probably count on one hand how many Sundays he has missed at church. 52 years of thinking of just the right words to give to everyone in his congregation. Words to inspire us and words to make us understand God’s love for us. 52 years of bringing couples together in marriage and 52 years of being there for those at their last moments, no matter the time of day or night. Now we are hoping to give back to him. Since the pandemic took our ability to properly celebrate his 50 years of devotion, we decided now is the time. On Sunday, December 18th, I am hoping that we can give him the best present of all - filling the seats at the Bayard Street Presbyterian Church. Nothing would give him greater joy than to see everyone’s face there! Please, please come and help us let him know how much he means to all of us, and how much he has meant to you! This one gift will mean the world to him, the gift of your presence. Can you imagine if we filled the church to the balcony? How wonderful would that be?! Also, if you have any photos from years past at the church, we would love if you could send them to us. We would love to make up a board or two to walk down memory lane!
