Hello CL, The reason for my post is for an urgent need for my lifelong friend and his mom. Together they are raising his 11 year old niece. Sadly, her mom passed away about 10 yrs ago and dad isn't really I the picture. Well gmom is about 70 yo and finally retired from her 20 yr job working with dialysis patients and my friend has a chronic illness is on disability. Unfortunately gmom didn't realize how little funds she would have left after paying Medicare. I am trying to help them myself also, however I was recently laid of from work. He was embarrassed to talk about it but is beyond depressed bc she does still have that I really want Santa to be real glimer in her eyes when we talk about good ol' Mr. Claus. I realize it's very close to Christmas and there are no organizations still accepting applicants. I spent a good bit of my day making calls and trying to find some resources. I'm sad to say I was totally unsuccessful. So I thought I would try to see if I could get just a few people on here or maybe FB that want to spread a lit bit of Christmas joy and hopefully get her a few gifts and maybe a Christmas meal. Nothing fancy. Maybe someone even has some stuff your kids ended up not using. I feel really bad for them. They took in this wonderful girl as practically a new born. They have never once asked for assistance, not even food stamps. Technically they still have not however, these people are like family to me and if anyone could see it in their hearts to help I can tell you there is not a more deserving family. Please help me ⁶help them. Merry Christmas everyone! Prayers and positive thoughts are also very much wanted! Thank you for taking the time to read this. (I have this posted in NH County as well hoping that between the 2 counties there will be a few ppl interested in helping out a family in need this Christmas) Also I am happy to provide any info, more details, etc I know you can't trust every sad story on the internet.
