Attendees will learn components of a Water Management Program necessary to satisfy The Joint Commission’s EC.02.05.02 Water Management Standard, ASHRAE Standard 188-2021 and the CMS QSO-17-30 Memorandum. Legionella bacteria sampling is part of a robust WMP validation program, and allows facilities to make adjustments to their monitoring plans. Routine maintenance of control locations and water treatment are important factors in maintaining good water hygiene. Supplemental disinfection, including the use of monochloramine on a remediation basis, can help mitigate Legionella bacteria growth in building water systems. Attendees will review a case study using monochloramine as a short-term remediation strategy.
