About us: Seven Day Weekend is a 4-piece Classic AM/FM Radio Rock and Adult Contemporary band featuring music from the 50s’ 60’ 70s’ 80s 90s and Modern Era. We play all the music you listened to in High School, the AM radio in mom and dad’s car, modern country, classic country, etc. The nucleus of the band has been together for years. For major gigs we have a 3 piece add-on brass section. We are a working band playing about once a month when in full swing. We have played the Jersey Shore, New Hope PA, Central NJ including state fairs. Most recently we became an official house band of Williams Harley Davidson. We rehearse Tuesday nights from 8 to 10pm in Somerville / Raritan. We are a pro band but we do it because we love it – We play a lot of charity events, we own a full PA with an awesome monitor system. If you’re looking for a band to pay the mortgage, this is not us. What we need: We are looking for a 5th M/F full member who will share the lead vocals – we have 2 lead vocalists and the vocs will now be split 33% x 3 and harmonies are essential on all material. If you play an instrument, terrific but the vocals are the priority. The chemistry in this band is awesome so the social dynamic is as important as the talent. No drama, no excuses. We’re pros in our 50s and age doesn’t matter – talent and attitude does. The game plan: We are finishing up our holiday schedule right now. Between now and end of the year we will be collecting emails and having conversations then early January we will be holding formal Jam, Audition sessions. We have about 100 or so tunes in rotation BUT we are cutting this down to 40 or so tunes and tightening up the rotation. The new member will have some new material welcome but please keep in mind we are not a cliché’ music band – No Sweet Caroline, no Mustang Sally. We are working on our new website and facebook account. We have setlists, demo recordings, a bio and photos we would be happy to share.
