DESCRIPTIONThe Ambulatory Medical Assistant (MA) Skills Fair will provide annual interactive education, enabling MAs to gain and maintain training on current procedures and equipment, and complete ongoing competencies according to Stanford Children’s Health (SCH) policies and procedures. Through immersive simulation, the MAs will receive real time coaching and peer-to-peer learning on improving emergency readiness, response and basic life support (BLS), which will reduce risk of harm and improve patient care experiences and outcomes in the Ambulatory setting. OBJECTIVESAt the end of the in-person training, the Ambulatory MA will be able to: Demonstrate safe use of common SPH equipment and devices at Stanford Children’s HealthDemonstrate how to execute safe emergency management in the Ambulatory ClinicsUnderstand and demonstrate how to safely use a Stryker Evacuation ChairUnderstand and discuss when, how and why to submit iCaresUnderstand and demonstrate best practice for injections and blood draw Verbalize understanding of MA scope of work and SCH policies TARGET AUDIENCEStanford Medicine Children's Health Ambulatory Medical Assistants (MAs)REGISTRATION and FEESThis FREE training is exclusively offered to Stanford Medicine Children's Health Ambulatory MAs.CHANGES ON REGISTRATIONChange date and time: Email [email protected].
