Description

One of the oldest practices for consuming aromatic plants is the burning of resins, woods, and herbs. Many people in today's society use incense as a quick and enjoyable way to scent their homes and alter their moods. However, the vast majority of incense available today is made with substances that are not healthy for you to breathe in. Saltpeter, binders, chemicals, and synthetic fragrances are released into the air and can have a negative impact on your health. And while smoking has undoubtedly negative health effects, one can also use incense to administer herbs and produce fragrant, HEALING smoke. The range of options is greatly increased as a result. Learn how to make incense in both combustible (cone and stick) and non-combustible (loose) forms without the use of artificial binders or combustible substances like saltpeter in this demonstration. I will discuss and demonstrate how to make cones and sticks in addition to making a non-combustible incense blend in class that each participant can take home. And we'll discuss how woods, resins, and other aromatic medicines can be used therapeutically. It's gorgeous, smelly, messy, and a ton of fun. My preferred type of class.
