This program is designed to be a no-nonsense approach to company officer leadership. No theory here, just realistic, and practical ways proven to build an effective group of performers within your team. I will bring previous military experience as well as experience in my current role to reinforce the importance of unit cohesion and how to achieve it. Being a Company Officer comes down to one core fundamental, caring about people. I will share my approach to building trust, relationships, and focus on many other essential elements that will make your team successful. This class is meant to inspire action and produce results in your company and your department. You will be given tools today to make immediate change tomorrow. Jarrod Sergi is a Captain with Norfolk Fire Rescue (VA). Jarrod is a State Instructor for both the Virginia Department of Fire Programs and the National Fire Academy focusing on MAYDAY, Strategy/Tactics and high-rise fire operations. He is also an instructor with Real Fire Training LLC and the Illinois Fire Service Institute where he provides hands on training for Engine and Ladder Company Operations. Jarrod is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program. Prior to working for the city of Norfolk he served onboard the USS Iwo Jima as a Damage Controlman and a Search and Rescue Swimmer.
