Greetings Hillcrest Community members and friends! We hope you will join us in celebrating the birth of Jesus on Christmas Eve for worship and a special celebration of Mary. We will begin at 5 pm and all are welcome here. All gifts requested will be donated to mothers in need in Contra Coast County, through the Hillcrest church layette program. Our layette program serves about 100 new mothers each year, providing essentials (e.g., diapers, wipes, blankets, burp cloths, onesies and sleepwear for 0-12 months) for that first year of life. Please help us continue the beautiful work of serving our neighbors, through this ministry. A layette is a bag of essentials provided to a mother in need in Contra Costa County. Layettes are made by volunteers, as they are needed (a Contra Costa County Public Health nurse contacts our program when a baby in need is born or soon to be born) ,with items that were donated by congregation/community members or purchased by volunteers. The program accepts donations year round, with the bulk of donations being gathered during the holiday season through our white gifts tradition and this year, a "baby shower" for Mary.
