Senior Citizen needed for hosting one or more event(s). EVENT HOST RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists to plan, and organize an event(s) At the event, greet and direct group members to the event area/room Answer some questions about the event in a chat Check the event space prior to the event Contribute to a positive, relaxed atmosphere with group members Where appropriate, coordinate teams for a harmonious experience, ie. bowling, walking tours Be a point of contact for attendees before the event via chat Engage each willing group member in a warm and friendly manner and make each feel welcome during an event Contribute to an inclusive and accepting group culture Be receptive to feedback from the group for reporting back to the Organizer-host Oversee any ‘needed’ group member interaction with venue staff during the event EVENT HOST REQUIREMENTS: Experience in hospitality or customer service, optionally, a diploma in hospitality or similar Excellent management, organizational, and planning skills, and strong leadership qualities Great interpersonal and communication skills, self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm A charming demeanor and positive attitude Flexible and readily approachable for each group member Physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces (asphalt/sidewalk, bowling alleys, shopping mall corridors, steps, parks, etc.) Professionally groomed in a manner consistent with the event Ability to effectively communicate with a small group Will typically be present for up to 3 hours regardless of the weather Required to assume functions/helpfulness fitting to the event(s) Able to join the group during some holidays, weekends, weekdays, and evenings as necessary Proficiency and familiarity around and within various venues (restaurants, concerts, theatres, home&garden-shows, farmers markets, breweries, food-tasting, festivals, and other similar public places Must be able to log into a chat regularly to greet, chit chat or respond to questions about the event Must be able to get to the event(s)
