Description
Amateur pianist here seeking horn player, bassist, guitarist, or vocalist to play through jazz/rnb/pop/rock covers as a duo, work on improv and arrangements. Down to try eclectic covers any genre, also cheesy crowdpleasing type tunes any genre, in addition to typical jazz stuff. Also maybe freeform improv. Just posting this on a whim nothing serious jamming is fine but if it clicks maybe we can put a setlist together and try to find some gigs or events to play.
More background: Im not a pro but ive done a lot of rock/pop cover band gigs in the past and im a fast learner. I dont think i could survive at a legit jazz jam yet lol but I def have the basics down. Ive gotten back to working on solo jazz piano recently and thought it would be fun to play with new people get some practice accompanying, get some feedback, learn some new tunes etc. Besides standards Ive been working on solo arrangements of girl of my dreams by donny benet (fun 80s style song by australian indie artist), ah yeah by robert glasper (rnb from 10 years ago, learned chords a while ago but recently learned vocal melody and working on full arrangement), and last christmas by wham haha.
Feel free to write me with your interests, any questions, then maybe we can exchange some recordings, pick a few tunes and set something up for later in december.
I live in brooklyn, work manhattan on weekdays usually 9-6 near bryant park.
Thanks
