I’m looking for a certified gas professional to install a propane-powered furnace in a 2021 Mercedes Sprinter that is converted into a campervan. Basic automotive, woodworking, and electrical skills are also required. This install is for the Propex HS2000 furnace, a system that is specifically designed for automotive applications. Below is a breakdown of the steps required for installation. 1. Drill holes in the bottom of the vehicle’s frame for hoses 2. Add proper sealant to the holes 3. Secure the hoses to the bottom of the vehicle’s frame 4, Secure the furnace to the floor inside the van 5. Construct a simple wood-based propane locker box with a drop vent 6. Add an access point to the locker box in the bed frame 7. Connect the furnace to the propane tank and leak test the system 9. Connect the furnace to the van’s battery bank 10. Connect the thermostat to the furnace 11. Cut holes in the bed frame for the thermostat and vents More detailed installation steps are in the documentation and videos linked to below.
