No Depression “Good imagery & metaphors married smartly to contemplative songs laid out in an inspired storytelling manner…Not a bad song here.” Americana Highways "A singularly, naturally beautiful album...Thinking of buying just one Americana album this year? This should be on your short list. At the top." Americana UK Singer-songwriter Megan Bee writes with an unquenchable wanderlust and a deep love for the land. Her 2022 album "Cottonwood" has been called "as real as it gets – a raw and real telling of engaging, relatable stories", and received an Honorable Mention in American Songwriter’s lyric contest. Her previous album "Waiting" (2020) earned The Ark of Music album of the year. Bee has won The Ohio Music Awards Best Americana and Best Singer-Songwriter Albums along with a finalist spot in the USA Songwriting Competition. Her music is a blend of distinctly homespun vocals, acoustic simplicity, yearning soulfulness, and winsome storytelling. Her background as an environmental educator, traveling farmhand, and vagabond once took her into a desert wilderness where she found her voice around a campfire. She bases out of the rolling hills of Athens, Ohio and draws influence from the collision of Appalachian folk and modern songwriting. Jake Dunn Originally from Pomeroy, Ohio, singer and songwriter, Jake Dunn writes with a familiar Midwestern heart, singing about love and hope, fear and heartbreak, and a continuing journey for freedom. Dunn has worked with a variety of talented and creative musicians all over southeastern Ohio to create quality records filled with masterful songs since his first solo album, ‘Driving’, was released in 2016. Since then, Jake has traveled across the Midwest playing shows and recording albums, often with backing band, The Blackbirds, to collide soaring guitar solos with dynamic classic rock compositions focusing heavily on lyrics and musicianship while being driven by a solid yet ambitious rhythm section. Jake has released 3 EPs and 3 full-length records since the formation of The Blackbirds in 2016, and he is currently working on an untitled solo album that is set to be released in the fall of 2023. John A. Walsh The music of John A. Walsh has echoed through the Mid-Ohio Valley for decades. Raised in Marietta, Ohio, John is an avid performing singer/songwriter/musician who has been one of the architects and advocates of the live music and arts scene in the MOV. The Peoples Bank Theatre, The Adelphia Music Hall, The West Virginia Music Hall of Fame, and The Adelphia Summer Concert Series are just a few of the projects John has been deeply involved in bringing to life for the community. John’s original music can best be described as Americana/Acoustic-Rock, which has been extensively recorded and performed on stages all over the country. He has shared the stage with such luminaries as Jason Isbell, Tim O’Brien, Larkin Poe, Dennis DeYoung, Lucy Kaplansky, Air Supply, Larry Groce, Todd Burge, and Amanda Shires. John’s best known work is The Fields of Gettysburg, a song cycle recorded in 2013, to coincide with the sesquicentennial anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. John’s all original song cycle brought real historical characters to life, enabling the listener to get to know people of the day on a personal level. The record, co-produced by Parkersburg singer/songwriter, Todd Burge, brought together an impressive ensemble of musicians, including Mountain Stage’s Larry Groce and Michael Lipton, two-time Grammy winner Tim O’Brien, Jessica Baldwin, Colton Pack and Justin Arthur. Met with wide critical acclaim, The Fields of Gettysburg was featured on NPR’s Mountain Stage and at The Gettysburg National Park’s Museum Gift Store. The album is currently available at Tamarack’s “The Best of West Virginia.” www.johnawalsh.comwww.facebook.com/jawsongs
