Platte Street Identity Meeting (in person or virtual)

Other

1701 Platte Street,Denver CO 80202

13 December, 2022

Description

Over the past year Highlands United Neighbors Inc. (HUNI), the LoDo District, Inc., Councilwoman Amanda Sandoval and Platte Street property owners and businesses held a number of meetings. The meeting attendees formed into two committees - one for a Platte Street event and one to explore a Platte Street identity. As a result of these meetings, Platte Street had its first ever Platte Street Fall BAZAAR on October 8, 2022, organized by Gum Pop Presents, which was a HUGE SUCCESS, drawing many people to Platte Street and bringing in over 70 vendors. The Platte Street identity committee explored forming some sort of district for Platte Street, such as a Local Maintenance District, Local Improvement District or a Business Improvement District. Councilwoman Sandoval applied for a Neighborhood Activation Grant for Platte Street to explore and establish a Platte Street identity. Recently, Councilwoman Sandoval was informed that the City did not award this grant to Platte Street. There has been enthusiasm from Platte Street property owners and businesses for exploring a Platte Street identity. We would like to continue this momentum. HUNI, the LoDo District, Inc. and Councilwoman Sandoval and Platte Street property owners and businesses will hold a meeting on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 1:30 - 2:30 pm to discuss next steps. Also on 12/13, from 2:30 - 3:30 pm, we will hold a Platte Street Business Watch meeting with the Denver Police Department to discuss security concerns on Platte Street. Please feel free to join us for this additional meeting. Learn more here.
