Their ability to weave together shimmering pop songs with the immediate logic of the dance floor is almost unmatched. When Hot Chip started in the early 2000s, hybrids between indie and dance were rare, but despite the fact that club and pop had already been married for a long time, Hot Chip has continued to be at the forefront. Just like New Order, when they went to Ibiza to soak up all the nuances of club culture, the five Brits succeeded in what becomes too easily cynical and forced: to understand club music and manage it in a pop context, long realizing that a dance floor is a place that holds all emotions.
