Guitar Player wants to jam

Seems like I know a piece of every song written. Never learned a full song but I have tried. It’s just that I get tired of copying someone else’s groove. Maybe just answering there groove with a response is a little less awkward. Need to tap and hum a lot cuz if I don’t, my mind will wonder into stomping my foot and whistling. I can interpret similarities between all types of music. Have known most of my life that there are people with extraordinary guitar skills that get ignored while the 3 chord and five note clever tricksters get worshiped. I also know that you only really need to produce one note or one beat to be a part of a most intricate, more robust, and the most pleasing sounding band. In fact, if we all had just one instrument and just one note to play in a song, then our only job within that song would be to wait for that exact moment, the moment we all waited for, the greatest thing in life, oh my god, what will I do when this moment is over moment, when, in fact, this very instant, it would be our time to strike, pluck, tap, strum, slide, thump, bend, pick, or to perform one of a million other descriptive moves governing the application of our one and only note. No matter how complex the sound is, anyone with timing could perform in an awesome band. Timing? Do you really want to go there? If the band is large enough, notes from one side of the practice area to the other would need to be plucked earlier than notes played next to each other in the middle and so on and so on. I mean, if everyone wanted to hear the notes while simultaneously giving their entire soul into that one single sound. I’d hate to figure out how we would play something like Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues. A major setback would be that there would be a need for an overly large practice area. Has there always been this thing called a stage? Seems like the band members on the stage could just make it easier on themselves if they just played or tapped or whatever else they do a lot less, and do it just once each. Remove the stage thing and blend with the audience. I’m sure they would like to participate. They have a good ear for music don’t they? Or did they come watch you cuz of the peer pressure? And don’t forget that some of us would like to enter our one sound during a specific area where we would feel better playing that one note. Ok, so delegating the single sounds to everyone would need to be fare also. Some would want to wait a millisecond more and give a later sound. And some would even opt not to sound theirs all together to possibly simplify the arrangement more or to encourage the previous person to sustain. My point is that we can all jam. Some folks hog all of the sounds to themselves, while others may be more sharing. Some of us hear all of the notes. Some of us only hear a few of the notes but know there are more there. One thing is for certain. We only need one instrument each. We only need one note each. We need to agree on who gets a note and when. And we need to be somewhat present to play that note. I know we live in a time of technology and all but let’s keep the sounds somewhat close together. And since I don’t have a large playing area and I don’t know who does, let’s just split all of the sounds among a few of us at first. But not that we need to play all of them together in the same jam session. One may play more sounds then others. Another may want to play less because they only have a few notes they have collected. We may need more or less practice area depending on our space and time. I’m not into cover tunes very much, although pieces of them do come around every so often. I’m influenced by almost all areas of music. One of the simplest bands with the best gimmick was The GD. A great American band, and one I have little experience with. And if you know or if you think you know how and why they did it and understand it’s not all about perfection but getting closer to perfection because nothing actually touches in our universe. “Let me know if you do find a universe where things actually come together”. That was a good tune though wasn’t it?If you don’t know but like rock and roll but also like jazz, blues, classical, African American church music, soul, bluegrass, Army brass band, and whale sounds let’s get together sometime. Heck, there are even times when I feel like putting on sweat bands everywhere and playing eighties rock with a warm up coach, guitar mechanic and stage director and all that other helpful stuff. Really, but more like Spinal Tap the movie. When rock bands get big, they get weird. Lord help us when we conquer Brevard County. We’ll need to get a few old greyhounds buses that can go on the huge 100 show tour from Roseland to Mims. I’m George. Thanks.
