Requesting wood stove consult or fix please

Hello, can anyone please help diagnose what is wrong here ? I repaired my wood stove a few years ago with fireplace putty and paint from amazon and it was working great for awhile. Recently however it makes a toxic smell and the room fills with smoke. The smoke clearly suggests a leak but perhaps I used the wrong product? I want to make sure whatever I do to fix it isn't unhealthy - this is a medical home where I'm a primary caregiver but we're extremely low income as a result of consecutive terminal illnesses and I need the stove to reduce the fuel bills, thanks!
