This course is offered FREE from a grant through the North Texas Behavioral Health Authority for anyone associated with the Grand Prairie YMCA or fellow organizations. This includes anyone in Dallas, Hunt, Rockwall, Ellis, Navarro or Kaufman Counties. The course instructor is Nelly Cuenca, CEO of MaaPaa.org. The course will be 8 hours, in person at the Grand Prairie YMCA located at 4556 S Carrier Pkwy, Grand Prairie, TX 75052 8:30am - 4:30pm. You must be 18 years or older to attend. You must attend the entire 8 hours to be certified as a Mental Health First Aider. If you are unable to attend after enrolling in the course, you must notify us immediately to open up seats for waitlisted participants.
