Description

New Jersey is proudly one of the most diverse states in the country, and Governor Phil Murphy and Attorney General Matthew Platkin have made it clear that hate has no home in New Jersey. Sadly, there has been a rise in reports of bias incidents, and Cape May County has not been excluded from these reports of bias The Cape May County Prosecutor's Office and all Cape May County Law Enforcement Agencies work hard to encourage people to feel comfortable reporting bias incidents to law enforcement. Because our committment to protecting our residents is paramount, we need to make sure our residents are knowledgeable in recognizing bias incidents and hate crimes. We also want the business community to get involved in identifying their businesses as Safe Places where people can go if they are being targeted, harrassed, or stalked because of who they are perceived to be.
