Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) - Utah is hosting a Saturday workshop in their "Beyond BOW" series to introduce women to snowshoeing and winter safety. Join a fun group of women as we venture to Beaver County to learn the basics of snowshoeing in a positive and empowering environment. Our guides will provide general winter activity tips and basic avalanche safety information.
When: February 4, 8:30am-3:30pm (return time may vary slightly)
Who: Adult women (18+ years old), No experience necessary
Where: We will snowshoe near Beaver, however, we will provide transportation from the USU Extension office (339 South 5500 West Hurricane, UT). If you would prefer to meet us in Beaver, you will have the opportunity to indicate your preference in the registration.
What: Enjoy a wonderful outdoor adventure with other women as you increase your outdoor skills and confidence. Learn about avalanche safety, snowshoeing basics and other general winter activity tips while experiencing the beautiful winter landscape. We will provide snacks and lunch.
You will need to bring winter gloves, beanie or hat, warm winter clothes (layers are best), warm winter boots, water, sunglasses and sunscreen, small backpack (to carry water). We will provide snowshoes, snacks and lunch. (If you have your own snowshoes, you may bring them.)
Please note that this activity will be geared toward beginners. If you have any questions, please reach out to Andrea at [email protected] or call the USU Extension office at 435-634-5706.
We hope you'll join us for a fabulous excursion!
