Feed the Hood along AbleVision and Associates will engage with local organizations who are experts engaged in Fatherhood, mentorship and other civic engagement, once a month to provide a safe space for healing.
During this time FTH will host a monthly community dinner along with AbleVision and associates to discuss the goals, objectives and how to overcome challenges of being in these roles on a daily basis.
In an open conversation, “The Dinner Table” participants will be able to strategize on how we can benefit from helping each other. This will allow skills, resources to be shared. The table is set to be intergenerational so that a diverse perspective can be heard.
The series will also be used to strategize and organize participants on topics of:
Mental health Awareness
Safe Sex Education
Self-Care and Hygiene
Voter education and Civic awareness
Home Economics
Our overall goal is to develop healthy relationships with participants in the area’s to support and network. Over time we expect this to help build and shape the community to encourage alternative methods of conflict resolution to both gun and domestic violence, drug addiction, hunger and many other determinants of health.
