Candidates should have a good general knowledge of construction tools and techniques, a professional attitude and be comfortable working with computers and electronics. Our premier attraction, the Laser Maze Challenge®, invites players to “step into the game” for an immersive, action-packed experience. Using agility, quick thinking, and speed, players must navigate their way through a field of laser beams in the quickest time possible, while engaging Mission Objectives along the way. If any beams are broken, a time penalty is added to the player’s score. In the Laser Maze Challenge, the faster the time and the lower the score- the better! Attitude: The Installer will directly represent our company to our customer. In this regard, he/she must present Funovation’s fundamental values in every situation; Professional, Fun and Innovative. All installers must have a “can do” attitude while at the same time keeping in mind the cost of decisions outside of the agreed upon scope of work. If a situation arises where there is a problem that the Installer cannot resolve, the Installer will defer to the Project Manager back at headquarters. However, if there is a minor discrepancy, the Installer should be able to design a solution on-the-spot and continue to satisfy the customer knowing that they have the support of the team “back home.” Teamwork: Must be able to work well with other installers and communicate status and concerns with the customer in a positive manner. Must be able to organize tasks and delegate work according to people’s strengths to accomplish the install quickly with very high confidence and quality. Trouble-shooting Skills: Find loose connections, bad solder joints, and mis-wired cables Alignment of fixtures, lights Document system installation for future remote debug Diagnose bad components, modules, cabling so as to not waste time or resources replacing good parts Basic understanding of optical appliances; care & maintenance of optical devices Technical Skills: Electrical wiring, Low voltage as well as knowledge of power (120VAC) Cat-5 termination Trouble-shoot electrical connections, cable mis-wires Routing wires Replacing bad components in a system General construction knowledge– framing, drywall, carpentry, painting To be intimately familiar with the Laser Maze system and how to explain its operation to the customer (we will provide training) To be able to lead the customer through a system training including computer software operation, trouble-shooting and system modification Safe use of power and hand tools Follow plans including reading measurements and translating those to the customer’s space Quality: The Installer is ultimately responsible for the quality of the installation. General Info: We are seeking contractors for remote jobs to install our Laser Maze Challenge attraction. Travel and lodging is arranged and provided by Funovation. Requirements: Must be able to travel and work remotely for up to 1-week at a time Must have a valid US driver's license Must be authorized to work in the United States US Passport required for international jobs (domestic and international opportunities available) Must be able to lift and carry heavy and/or bulky items weighing more than 50 lbs/23kg. Must be willing to work long hours in a self-directed manner remotely Must be able to work as a team with other installers and delegate tasks effectively and in a respectful manner Must have a professional demeanor and be able to interface directly with customers as a representative of Funovation Written and verbal communication skills Software and Electronics troubleshooting skills Background: Ideal candidate will have a good basic knowledge of home and commercial construction. He/she will have installed other electronic systems. Ideally at least 2 years direct professional experience as well as non-professional experience in a non-commercial area (home repair, remodeling, volunteer work). Ideally at least 2 years experience working on a team to complete installations. Some basic computer knowledge is a must. Travel: This position requires travel. Domestic and international installs will be available. Each installation is expected to be about 3-5 days with 2 installers. We arrange travel and lodging for you. Compensation: After training experienced contractors can expect to make over $350 per day on average. Compensation is determined based on the difficulty of the job.
