Today I'm sending a message to the White House on their on-line contact form to counter the misguided messages sent by angry Trumpians. I encourage everyone who is thrilled by the prisoner swap to do the same: I am thrilled at the results of the prisoner swap after months of negotiation with a tryrannical nation. You traded a human being adored by millions basketball player who carried a THC product legal in most of America and is vocal about American racism and systemic injustices for an international arms dealer, which is standard procedure for political prisoner swaps. Bravo! You are clearly working to secure the release of a Marine who clearly carries far more diplomatic weight than Brittany Griner, who was incarcerated solely for publicity purposes. The ball player is innocent. What an ideal trade given that no other trade could be made with a diabolical Vladimir Putin. This illustrates the diplomatic skill and strength of administration that the previous administration lacked in submitting to a known war criminal. Although a minority of the American public is outraged, the vast majority are grateful. Your administration is clearly succeeding as witnessed by the midterm results and continued recovery from the previous administration's horrific blunders. This and your other successes are stronger grounds for a second term should you choose to run, as drummed your predecessor faces multiple felony charges and civil suits for sexual assaults. Thank you and the State Department who negotiated the swap! Furthermore, your provision to add pronouns to your on-line contact form is evidence of your acceptance of diversity in face of sick hatred of far right nutjobs. I am sure the next Republican POTUS will delete that, although that could be a long time coming and, who know, they may even be LGBTQ+ given the yesterday's passage into law of equal marriage rights.
