Bryn Mawr Community Church (Chicago) Title: Lead Musician (Organist) Type: Part Time Job Description: This position is defined as contracted year-round. The Lead Musician engages in weekly worship planning with the Minister of Music, accompanies Sunday Worship services and weekly rehearsals with the choir and/or praise team, and 3-4 special services to include Good Friday and a Christmas concert throughout the church calendar year. Pre-requisite: A strong commitment to serving God and His people, and a desire to serve through excellent worship Desired Skills: Experienced Hammond B3 organist (5+ years preferred) with the ability to work with a variety of age groups and types of music (ex. Gospel styles with improvisation, Christian Contemporary, traditional hymns, jazz) Demonstrates comfortability with spontaneous worship, sermonic singing/shouting, and “praise breaks” Accompanies all musical aspects of church services and special events Assists in preparing and communicating clear musical direction to band members Collaborates well with the Pastor, the Minister of Music, and members of the Music Ministry in planning relative music to worship Attends weekly musical rehearsal with music prepared in advance Prioritizes punctuality Ability to support occasional guest musicians with musical accompaniment Salary: $300.00/weekly CV/Resume/musical links will be requested.
