Association for Play Therapy Approved Provider #17-524 Presenters: Holly Tracy, LPC, LMFT, ACS, CTTS, NCC, C-DBT, CT, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor™ Description: You do NOT need to have attended Part 1. Each part designed to stand independently. Grief and loss is what brings someone to counseling. COVID has increased and triggered a grief response for many. The necessity of Play Therapy as part of grief work will be reviewed. Specific Play Therapy interventions as well as real-life examples will be rehearsed and shared. Through slides, examples and experiential participation, participants will learn the value of creativity and Play Therapy interventions in grief work. Using research based information supporting play therapy’s creative and playful interventions, participants will explore using art, journaling, music, books, media and games to facilitate grieving. Examples of famous works of art in response to grief and personal creative products will be shared as examples. Therapists often struggle working with grief with only a talk therapy mindset. Adding creative Play Therapy interventions allows clients to integrate both brain hemispheres, lessons defenses, increases serotonin and leads to healing. Through engaging both affective and logical/rational brain, healing occurs: “Feel to Heal!” Objectives: 1. Identify why Play Therapy is appropriate and necessary for grief work. 2. List 4 categories of Play Therapy Interventions appropriate for grief. 3. Apply Knowledge of Play Therapy and theories of grief tasks to session planning. 4. Discuss impact of experiences related to engagement in at least 2 Play Therapy Interventions. Participation is expected and dependent on the pass/fail "grade" of obtaining the final CE certificate. $95 per person if registered and paid BEFORE December 7, 2022 *Discount for students, Residents and groups of 3 or more* Cancellation Policy: This training is non-refundable, unless cancelled by the training provider.
