Wow.. there is something special happening in the city of brotherly & sisterly love, can you feel it ?! This Dance Medicine community is not only growing in number, but also deepening in connection. The authenticity and intimacy in the moments of togetherness is palpable. Every time we come together with the shared intention to let it all out on the dance floor, magic happens.. healing happens.. rippling waves of love are sent out into the collective. SO.. clear your schedules because this FRIDAY NIGHT we are going to be getttttinn dowwnn with DJ Metaterrestrial. Expect the unexpected. >> mĕt′ə-tə-rĕs′trē-əl << • noun :: a portmanteau of "metaphysical" & "extraterrestrial" meaning something which originates outside the ordinary three-dimensional space-time framework in which we normally function. Much like the name, Metaterrestrial uses live performance to take the listener on a sonic journey that defies geological boarders & defined genres. Using spoken word, visual & auditory stimuli, MT seeks to drive forward a much larger concept—That there exists much more than we can perceive with our two eyes. ** Not only will the mystical being be playing our dance set, but will also be guiding us into the soothing softness of the sound bath at the end! For our warm up we have LaVina & Haribo guiding a sensual, somatic & soulful journey to explore your edges. This exploration will invite you deep into the realms of connection, communication, boundaries & consent. Through activating your life force & awakening your felt sense, be ready to welcome all parts of yourself in a new way. Land fully in your body vessel before swirling into the magic of the dance set ahead. >> The location that will be hosting our dancing bodies will be Philadelphia Ethical Society... of course in the city of brotherly & sisterly love. Join us FRIDAY on 12/16 from 7-10:30pm. Also excited to have Jaya Kava / Lightbox Cafe vending Philly's best Kava and Kratom! In order to keep things safe in these uncertain times we ask that you take the necessary health precautions you feel called to take for yourself and respect the choice of others. (If you have felt sick, had a fever or cough, please do not attend.) Masks are welcome if that is appropriate for you, they will not be enforced. Dance Medicine Philly is a drug & alcohol free event. We ask that there is no talking on the dance floor and no cameras used during the event. Please respect this as our intention is to offer folks a safe, supportive place to dance, move wiggle and wobble into full self expression. 💃🏽🎵 🕺🏽🎵 .🧚🏼‍♂️🎵 🧞 Some things to consider bringing: Water bottle, yoga mat, something warm to cover with for the sound healing, acoustic instruments such as drums/rattles, fire and flow toys like hula hoops, juggling balls, and poi.
