Featuring powerful twin fiddles, the exciting new California bluegrass
band GRASSWOOD weaves together raw driving bluegrass, the bounce of western
swing and lonely country duets with a refreshing sound that is both traditional and
uniquely their own, a sound that echoes from the hollers of Kentucky, across the Texas
plains, to the Honky Tonks of Bakersfield.
Fronting the band is Yoseff Tucker who has been awarded Northern California Male
Vocalist and Guitarist of the Year multiple years. Kentucky native, Brandon
Godman(Laurie Lewis, Dale Ann Bradley, Doyle Lawson, The Band Perry and Jon
Pardi) and Chad Manning (David Grisman Bluegrass Experience, David Grisman
Quintet, Laurie Lewis) provide the rich blend of twin fiddles. Jack Kinney works the 5-
string while his singing is reminiscent of Carter Stanley. Bringing his love of Monroe-
Style mandolin to the band is Jasper Manning (Birches Bend) who at the age of 16 has
already performed with Del McCoury, David Grisman, Peter Rowan and Laurie
Lewis. Katya Tucker (Blue and Lonesome) drives the band with her upright bass and
soaring vocals.
