This role provides much of the direct face-to-face interaction between the Operations Department and students in program, facilitating student resupply and showers and ensuring students have appropriate gear for the outdoor programming. The Operations Coordinator is responsible for maintaining safe and working equipment for students and co-workers and to promote proper use and care of New Vision physical resources. Schedule: This position typically works Monday to Friday. There is also required weekend work for on-call support coverage and required nighttime work for direct care coverage and mentoring of instructors. On Call responsibilities are typically ~1 weekend/month On call coverage responsibilities would be expected to start within 6 months of position start date Oversight of Operations: Primary Responsibilities: The role of Operations Coordinator will vary on week-to-week basis in coordination with the Operations Team, to include: Support of vehicle and facility safety assessments and maintenance Support in providing clients and employees appropriate and well-maintained gear Support of Operations budget goals for purchasing food and operating supplies Coverage of resupply with all groups on a weekly basis to ensure students are able to have nutritional and hygiene needs met Supporting a culture of care and responsibility towards resources Secondary Responsibilities: The Operations Coordinator will also be expected to support the student and instructor field experience, which may include: Facilitating nutrition and wellness curriculum at resupply Facilitating experiential education curriculum in-field (e.g. stewardship, fishing) Supporting student programming activities (e.g. enrollments, transitions, transports) Provide field coverage on as-needed basis in support or direct coverage role Any other duties as assigned by Operations Manager On-call Responsibilities: Participation on on-call team typically begins within 6 months of hire per discretion of Operations Director Operations Coordinator will participate on the on-call team, including holding on-call phone and radio and available to respond to field crisis situations, provide on-call field support assistance to field instructors, and receive nightly check-ins from field staff on one-week/month basis Any other duties as assigned by Operations Director or Executive Director. Must possess one of the following qualifications: bachelor's degree in related field at least 1 year experience working in the adventure or outdoor field with at-risk youth building and site management experience and documented skill set Must possess and maintain current Wilderness First Responder or other emergency first aid and CPR certification and must have completed company provided SCM (Safe Crisis Management). WFR certification may be obtained post-hire, within 6 months of start date, for appropriately qualified candidate Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds for extended durations Must be able to pass a Background Criminal Investigation. Must hold a valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
