Keys and Sax wanted

Description

Looking for keys and sax to fill out our lineup as the great folks we've worked with have moved on due to other life demands. We're an established band for over a decade, focusing on Soul, Funk, and old school R&B with strong New Orleans influences, emphasizing pocket and dynamics. Material is very select covers (currently about 60) and now working in originals. We've performed as a 7 to 8 piece for years, lineup has been female lead vocals, guitar/vocals, bass/vocals, drums/vocals, keys, sax, trombone and trumpet. Sax - to work with our excellent trombone and trumpet players, with established charts. Should be proficient playing in a section with plenty of room for solos. Keys - material calls for B3, Rhodes/Wurlitzer, and piano, comfortable with complex chord changes and solos. Vocals would be welcomed and a definite plus for either instrument, and if you play sax, keys and sing there's lots of opportunity here. Do you write? If the material fits, this could be a great outlet. We're quite able to perform with our current lineup so taking our time to find the right people. Band members have decades of playing and performing experience and looking for more of the same. We have an outstanding rehearsal studio, full band PA (for those clubs and events that don't offer a sound system), and overall excellent pro equipment. Rehearsals are typically once per week with the rhythm section, with full band rehearsals twice per month. We try to be efficient with everyone's time and show up knowing our parts and prepared to run material. We typically gig a couple of times per month which is a sustainable goal - most band members have day jobs. Just to be fair and save time, here's what won't fit; - We're not interested in playing the typical greatest hits, rock/soul/funk standards, and are decidedly not a classic rock or blues band. - We don't believe great music stopped in one particular era - amazing stuff gets released regularly. - Please no substance issues. - And finally the hired gun thing. We're over it. Way over it. If your hope is to play in multiple bands, show up minimally for rehearsals (if at all), and just go to gigs and blow through material this is not your band.
