Job description: We are currently seeking a Furniture Finish Removal Specialist to join our restoration team! You will be responsible for completing work invoices in the order received, maintain a clean work area, provide customer service of unloading and loading vehicles (must be able to lift 50 pounds alone and additional weight with help), cleaning of the different shop areas including kitchen and restrooms, and any other required tasks as assigned. Work hours are Tuesday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM with a flexible thirty (30 min) minute up to a one (1) hour unpaid lunch break. Payday is every Friday and direct deposit is available. Holiday pay and Paid Time Off (PTO) will be discussed at a later time with candidate. Job Responsibilities: Complete finish removal work orders in a timely fashion Perform needed repairs to furniture items during the finish removal process Prep old furniture for final finishing by removing all existing hardware and storing it for cleaning Removal of old furniture finishes using mechanical power tools and manual hand sanding as required Perform routine preventive maintenance on finish removal equipment Maintain material and supply inventory for the Finish Removal Department Oversee and manage drop off work performed by outside contractors as necessary Help unload and load client furniture items as needed Assist / Help clients during peak demand periods Assist Final Finish Department with hardware assembly, polishing, etc. as needed during peak demand periods Clean shop areas, kitchen and restrooms once a week ​Qualifications: Must have reliable transportation to be at work on time for each shift Previous furniture restoration experience is not required as we will provide on the job training Familiarity with general hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, scrapers) and power sanding equipment is helpful Ability to handle physical workload including lifting 50 pounds alone and more weight with help Deadline and detail-oriented with ability to multitask without forgetting objectives Ability to speak and understand English clearly to clients and prospective clients in person and over the phone Neat, legible handwriting needed for filling out client invoices Must be able to pass a drug screening Job Type: Full-time Salary: $16.00 per hour Benefits: Employee discount Holiday paid time off Paid time off (PTO) Schedule: 8-to-9-hour shift Tuesday through Friday (NO Saturday or Sunday work) Overtime on a limited basis some Mondays only if desired during peak demand times This is for day shift - No nights and No weekends COVID-19 considerations: Customers can enter the front of the main shop for drop-off and pick-up or use curbside service.
