Toll Plaza Custodian TTEC Government Solutions, Inc is looking to hire a full-time Toll Plaza Custodian for our Pinellas Bayway Toll Plaza. Position: Toll Plaza Custodian Location: Pinellas Bayway Toll Plaza Description: ● The primary duty of this position is to maintain the cleanliness of the toll facility by performing routine maintenance and custodial duties. ● Peak traffic conditions may require a high volume of cleaning duties to be fulfilled under demanding conditions. ● This position is performed in a toll facility with adequate cooling and heating, but may be subject to weather conditions. ● This work impacts the traveling public and as such requires courtesy, efficiency, and professionalism at all times. ● Crossing traffic lanes safely requires good mobility, vision, and hearing to be alert to traffic conditions. Shift Details: ● Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm EST Pay Information: ● Pay rate is $14 per hour ● Paid bi-weekly Responsibilities: ● Proficiently operate the Florida Department of Transportation’s custodial equipment including, but not limited to, push mobile pressure cleaners. ● Clean the interior of the toll facility administrative building, tunnels and tunnel stairs, toll booths, and remote ramp locations. ● Maintain all sweeping, mopping, and waxing of floors, empty wastebaskets, dust and polish furniture, clean windows, and clean and stock restroom facilities. ● Keep parking areas, lanes, and lawns free of trash; collect and load trash in appropriate waste receptacles. ● Speak and understand English proficiently to effectively communicate with staff and motorists and respond to inquiries in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner. Qualifications: ● High school diploma or GED ● Current and valid Florida Driver’s License (NOT a permit or ID card) ● A minimum of one year janitorial or maintenance experience ● Exceptional knowledge of routine custodial maintenance duties ● Effective communication in English, both verbally and in written form ● Passing score on English, Math, and Cash Calculation tests ● Physical ability to walk long distances, safely walk across toll lanes, and climb/descend stairs while carrying up to 30-50 pounds ● Good mobility, vision, and hearing to cross lanes safely and be alert to traffic conditions ● Ability to safely walk across toll lanes while fully elevating and extending arm closest to oncoming traffic to ‘shoulder blade height’ in a ‘stop motion’ (arm extended with palm held out) to signal to oncoming traffic while carrying work related items in the other arm (i.e., tour funds, cash draw, safety related items) ● Ability to operate a push mobile pressure washer and other power tools ● Adequate comprehension skills to follow oral and written instructions ● Awareness of safety measures and how to use and mix chemicals in toll facilities ** Final candidates for this position will need to successfully complete a drug screening and background investigation, which may include a criminal check along with a Florida motor vehicle license check.
