ABOUT THE WINTER SOLSTICE: Wednesday December 21st marks the longest night of the year, a change in season, and the Winter Solstice.  In Latin, solstice is made of two words: sol - meaning “the sun” and sistere means “to stand still.” Winter Solstice is one the most powerful points of the year as the axis of the Earth pauses, shifts and moves in the opposite direction. In this fruitful darkness, we are invited to take a collective exhale as we rest and release. To dream and allow new inspirations to emerge gently. It’s a natural time to go inward, to shed the skins of the past and source visions for the future. Acts of ceremony and ritual on this day support living intentionally. They honor and acknowledge the unseen web of Life that connects us all. When we align and honor our personal cycles with nature — we are reminded of the ever-changing sphere of life that we are connected to.
