If you require ADA accommodations please reach out to [email protected]* ___________________ After more than five years of studio time, engineering, and line-up retooling, Jinnouchi Power will play their highly ambitious 1-hour album, Kaleidokoi, at xBk. Produced by Phil Young, and mixed and mastered by Nick Frampton (Field Division, The River Monks), this album conveys the complex feelings evoked when making yourself vulnerable to someone in love. Using references to sci-fi novels about voids in space-time or the warming cheesiness of 70’s Kung Fu movies, Jinnouchi Power combines that relatable vulnerability with these more obscure elements to make something unique to chew on with repeated listens. The two opening acts, Pleasants and Good Morning Midnight, were chosen to most effectively enhance the listening experience. Pleasants are locally-loved sweeties who excel in crafting lush soundscapes with synthesizer, guitar, and vocals, communicating a feeling of acceptance through their cathartic sound. Good Morning Midnight’s music, on the flipside, can be described as simultaneously angular, twangy, catchy, and abrasive, combining intimate vocals with roaring instrumentals.
