Kingstree High Band Boosters Presents Valentine's Day Gala

Nearly a hundred high school band students from Kingstree High School are preparing to travel to Honolulu, HI for the opportunity of a lifetime. The Kingstree High School Mighty Marching Merge Band was selected to perform at the National Vietnam Veterans Day Parade on March 29, 2023, in front of viewers worldwide. The band has performed locally, regionally, and statewide and this would be the biggest platform for the growing band. Dr. James Patterson has the community motivated by the musicality and energy displayed by this Kingstree High School musical aggregation. “This is truly an honor for these students to be invited to participate in this parade, and to march in the National Vietnam Veteran's Day Parade would be an opportunity that does not come around often.” The students are engaging in fundraising and will be so thankful to receive the public's financial assistance to help cover the expenses to make this opportunity a definite reality. The students were elated to be chosen to perform not only because it's a huge honor, but because it highlights what their band leaders keep telling them “hard work pays off.” The students have worked so hard since the summer months preparing for this first year as a consolidated school, and this invitation is the by-product of hard work. Since the consolidation of Kingstree Senior High School and CE Murray High School, the Kingstree High School Mighty Merge Marching Band is one of the largest high school bands in the area. The band has recently participated in a number of competitions and placed as an exceptional band in its respective division winning numerous awards and recognitions. The band is prepared and eager to show the world what they can do.
