Experience #2: A Mile in Their Shoes
For this event, come ready to step into the shoes of someone else and see how stigma can impact our lives. You will receive a 'passport' at registration and experience a variety of thought-provoking exhibits at which you will have an opportunity to give feedback. Your feedback will lead to a broader discussion in the second half of the evening where we will explore shame, societal stigma, and trauma.
The evening will be moderated by Terry Dyer, Executive Director for the World AIDS Museum and Educational Center (WAM). WAM will be open and included in the evening.
We will be providing lite bites and beverages to attendees.
6:30-7:30pm: Arrival of attendees, check-in, experience 'Stigma Exhibits' where attendees will move through different stations and have a chance to see the impact of stigma.
7:30pm-8:20pm: Community Conversation about 'Stigma Exhibits'. Share your thoughts about the stigma experience.
8:20-8:30pm: Wrap-up and next steps.
The first 50 registered attendees will be eligible for a $10 gift card at the conclusion of the event. ONE CARD PER REGISTERED NAME. If you are registering for a friend, submit their name on the registration form for their ticket.
Parking at ArtServe is free.
