Area 2 Farms brings farmers and communities together. We use indoor, vertical farming to grow a wide variety of fresh, organic produce. Our farm is rooted in the oldest techniques and powered by the newest technologies, enabling us to grow always-in-season produce right here in Arlington, VA. If you like working with your hands and building things that have a real-world impact, this is the job for you. No formal education or degrees are required, just a passion for building awesome stuff! We need you to: - Problem-solve, spot issues and find creative ways to overcome obstacles that come your way - Eliminate operating downtime of the farm - Work with the Farm team in the assembly and maintenance of automation systems - Perform all kinds of repairs from simple screw tightening to troubleshooting pneumatic systems or identifying and replacing faulty electrical components in automation systems - Always be reliable and always on time. - Good communicator capable of working in a team - Motivated, energetic individual who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves - Strong attention to detail - Comfortable learning and adapting to new concepts and using new tools - Some technical expertise in mechanics At Area 2 Farms we believe the entire team should have some hands-on experience with the crop. Everyone is expected to spend some time performing farm tasks beyond their defined role. This can include seeding, transplanting, harvest or packing.
