VHS to DVD

I have some old VHS tapes that I would like to have transferred to DVD format. I know they make a machine that does it in one step. VHS in one side blank DVD in the other. push a button and done. But I dont want to buy one for what would be just a one time use. Once they are transferred I would have this machine I no longer need. Hoping maybe someone has one of these that I could borrow, rent, or maybe even just bring the VHS over and we could watch them while they are being burned to DVD.
