Professional Bass Player looking for like minded, dependable players to form a CURE Tribute Band (and possible do some SIOUXSIE too if we can find the right front person(s)). Here's the thing: I've noticed, regionally, there are a lot of bands doing 90s alt or metal 80s tributes. In the bars, it's the same tired shite over and over. As tributes and bar bands go, I've yet to come across a band covering the kind of 80s music that I (and other distinctive, more particular folks) enjoy. I'm an older player who doesn't particularly look (or act) my age, but I've no time for BS. I work professionally playing bass (Weddings/Corporate Events) and I'm only interested in forming this as a money making venture. I live in Westchester, but I'm willing to rehearse in Midtown or go as far as Bridgeport for the right situation. I do my homework and show up prepared, focused and ready to work. Because of this, I don't like to do a hell of a lot of rehearsing once we've gotten things down. BUT Post Christmas is a GREAT TIME to get serious and focus on getting a great project off the ground. Wedding season is going to be pretty dead for me till April, so I can put in the time NOW and we can make something really awesome and different for this market.
