Please join us in celebrating the beautiful tradition of Las Posadas this weekend at the Historic Trujillo Adobe in Riverside, CA hosted by the nonprofit organizations Bordando Nuestras Raíces and Spanish Town Heritage Foundation. We are looking forward to bringing the community together for a day of hot food and drinks, sweets, music, and piñatas. This year’s event will also provide 5lbs of masa (tamale dough) for the first 100 families in attendance on a first come, first serve basis sponsored by Valley Vista waste services along with: Traditional eats provided by Northgate Market which will include tamales along with pan dulce and hot chocolate. Cultural holiday traditions for guests to experience will feature Villancicos singing the poetic Spanish holiday songs and pinatas filled with candy and sweets. Las Posadas, celebrated yearly from December 16-24, is a religious festival traditionally held in Mexico and parts of Latin America. Translating to ‘The Inns’ in Spanish, Las Posadas is an important part of the Christmas festivities. Each of the nine days represents a value such as humility, strength, detachment, charity, trust, justice, purity, joy, and generosity.
