Description

OverviewDaylong meditation retreats are an opportunity to set aside the demands of life and focus fully on cultivating mindful presence for a dedicated period of time. This enables us to develop continuity of mindfulness, and can be a great source of inspiration to a meditation practice and our daily lives. The daylong retreat will offer multiple modes of meditation practice to support the practice of mindfulness, and will be suitable for those with no meditation experience as well as those who have a regular meditation practice. The schedule will include alternate sitting and movement meditations, with some guided sessions and others self-directed. After orientation at the start of the day, the full day will be held in silence (besides instructor guided meditations) to support each person’s inner exploration. The meditation instructions will be oriented from an Insight Meditation perspective, but no familiarity with Insight Meditation is required. Following the ancient meditation tradition, this event is offered entirely by donation. Donations support the teachers and the organization to continue offering free events in the community.
