Description: Plenary is seeking a bridge tender for shift work (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am). The Bridge Tender raises and lowers a vertical lift bridge in accordance with local, state and federal regulations to facilitate the flow of vehicular and marine traffic over and through the waterway. This role communicates with the public via telephone and marine radio and provides immediate notification to supervisor and authorities of incidents and abnormal conditions. This is a full-time, safety-critical role on a bridge with 24/7 operations requiring reliable, regular attendance.

Working hours:
8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week
Must work holidays and weekends as needed
Qualifications & Requirements:
18+ years old
Familiar with marine radio protocols
Able to read and write neatly and proficiently in the English language
Comfortable with standing, walking and climbing stairs at heights above water
Safety first mindset
Must have 20/40 or better vision, with or without corrective lenses
Must be able to hear and understand all radio communications, with or without a hearing aid
Must be able to discern among green, red and amber lights
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
Standing/sitting for extended periods of time
Stooping, bending
Lifting up to 20 lbs
Must have reliable transportation
