Help restock a food pantry that helps feed New Yorkers in need! The United Jewish Council of the East Side (UJCES) supports the Lower East Side and wider NYC community with human services and community development programs. While the majority of services are oriented to seniors, UJCES also has programs for families and children. UJCES volunteers are essential to our mission as we serve New Yorkers. DETAILS: We are looking for up to 10 corporate or school group volunteers to help bring new food pantry items inside our pantry from a truck delivery, and organize new items, to restock our pantry. Instructions are provided on site. Tasks include bending and lifting heavy materials. This opportunity involves retrieving items from outdoors and bringing them into an indoor facility, rain or shine. You must be 14+ years old to volunteer, and groups of volunteers 14-17 years old must be accompanied by parent(s) or guardian(s). You can join compassionate people in supplying nutritious food to the New York City community. DAYS AND TIMES: We are looking for volunteers associated with a business or school, who are available on Thursday, December 15 from 9:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. HOW TO SIGN UP: Join the UJCES team! Please complete an online application form at ujceastside.org/volunteer-nyc. You can sign up with a school group, or a group of coworkers (10 maximum). You may also email us as soon as possible, to express interest. Please reach out by December 13 at the latest!
