I have a township required Dec 29, 2022 deadline for repair of three moderate sized holes in a circa 1958 cinder block retaining wall.
Job is to simply patch/fill to assure dry and cure as close to 40-60 degree conditions as possible for optimum strength.
Surface will be cleaned/power washed and all rubble removed in advance.
[Resurfacing and beautifying will be in optimum conditions in April once strength of repair is assured.]
I am looking for someone with:
concrete or masonry experience,
a wheel barrow, trowel, and flat concrete spreader tool, etc
** a hammer drill with 1/2" bit [for placing pieces of 6-9" steel rebar].
Inexpensive ideas for quick dry, and maintaining a steady 50 degree temp for up to a week are highly desired.
Materials will be onsite:
pea gravel, medium sand, portland cement,
mason's hydrated lime, rebar lengths,
and of course, water.
I will be the assistant, so that time between placing the lime paint and pea gravel-sand-lime concrete filling can be as short as possible. Timing of the work will necessarily be entirely weather dependent, and spur of the moment within constraints of other job responsibilities on both our parts.
Maximum project labor $200.
