The Drifty Source
Two artists, one canvas. Warhol influenced painter and musician, Shelly Johnson with abstract painter, destination writer and poet, Jake Higgins combine efforts. Painting in the off-grid Shanti Community Art Studios in Madrid, New Mexico, the two have created a series of paintings for ‘The Drifty Source’ Collaboration.
Debut showing of their first series together, in addition to their individual works, will open at the The Source (1111 Carlisle Blvd, SE) Dec. 16, 5-8pm for a soft opening with drifty tunes and live poetry by Jake (Western Winds).
Dec. 18, 5-8pm the Madrid based band Shelly has played with for several years, Roadhouse Karma will come together in The Source Gallery with Jake as he live paints and shares more of his new book of poetry, ‘Slum Talk.’
