Join us for our Annual Holiday Lights Run in Broad Ripple, Indiana! On Tuesday, December 13, 2022, Runners Forum is teaming up with the Indy Runners Club for our annual Christmas Lights Run/Walk. The event will start from Hinkle Fieldhouse starting at 6:00pm. Indy Runners Club has developed a roughly 4 mile route through the Butler-Tarkington and Meridian-Kessler neighborhoods in search of festive houses. The route is below. Don your best Santa hat, jingle bells, or other holiday gear for this festive group run. _______ Important Note: We will be running on the roads and sidewalks in the dark, and traffic will NOT be controlled. We ask that all participants obey the following rules: All participants must wear reflective gear and/or lights. (Dress to be seen.)When on the road, all participants must stay toward the edge of the road. Please do not take up the entire lane.When on the road, all participants must stay on the left-hand side of the road. Do not run or walk on the right-hand side of the road.While pedestrians technically have the right-of-way at intersections with respect to cars, please realize that drivers may have trouble seeing you in the dark. Do not run or walk across an intersection unless any cars at the intersection signal for you to cross in front of them. Do not assume that just because the group of runners or walkers in front of you crossed the road in front of a car, it’s safe for you to do the same. Drivers may see the group in front of you but not you personally.Have fun! This is not a race but rather a chance to run or walk with others and check out the festive Christmas lights. Never been to Hinkle Fieldhouse? Parking is free in the lot in front of the fieldhouse unless otherwise marked. First left on East 55th Street.First right on North Washington Boulevard.Third left on East 58th Street. Second left on North Pennsylvania Street.Sixth right on East 49th Street. Take 49th St. back to Hinkle Fieldhouse.
