Join us for a special afternoon of the traditional Czech Holiday activities. Bring family and friends to this celebration of Czech Christmas traditions and musical culture!
During the traditional holiday celebration we will present the "Czech Christmas Tree for New York" in collaboration with the Czech Center New York. This year it will be a third time we can admire the handmade glass-bead ornament collection presented by family manufacturer RAUTIS in Poniklá.
Program of the afternoon:
3 PM - children’s Choir of the Czech and Slovak Community Center in Astoria will perform the Czech and American Christmas carols
3:45 - workshops and crafts for children
5:15 PM - Christmas concert by NYU Steinhardt/Prague Conservatory (Josef Matěj Švec - violoncello, Martin Šulc - accordion)
Join in family-friendly interactive presentations highlighting Czech Christmas traditions, Christmas-themed arts and crafts and more! The event will be accompanied by a small Christmas Market with traditional Czech goodies/products, chocolates and sweets, mulled wine and traditional Czech Christmas cookies.
