Description

The Arts Immersion Program provides a ten-week project-based shop training series for teens who are interested in exploring multidiciplinary arts. Teens will meet Wednesdays from 10:00-11:30 from January 18th to March 23rd and be immersed in the excitement of creating in our 13,000-square-foot makerspace. Using a project-based model, each Teen Maker will be trained in and make use of our shared work areas including; Ceramics (hand building and wheel throwing), Fiber Arts (paper making and bookbinding), Leather Studio (carving and tooling), and Metalwork (cold metal work with copper). In each shop, we’ll first focus on technique and tool training and then dive deeper through independent work. The Teen Immersion Program will include a LaunchSpace training certificate and once certification is obtained, students are eligible to enroll in Teen Open Studio where under the guidance of an artist mentor work independently in the areas they are certified. LaunchSpace trainings can also be shared with employers or on college applications and will provide evidence that students have obtained important tool trainings and the discipline needed to develop a skill. This class is especially designed for students ages 13+. This class runs ten Wednesdays from 10AM to 11:30AM; January 18th through March 23rd. A non-refundable deposit of $75.00 will hold your place and go toward your full tuition of $275.00. EBT card holders are eligible for 10% of the class price and payment plans are available through Eventbrite using PayPal. Please read, sign & return before program start date.
