Community Reads: "Emma"This spring, SUU Community Reads, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Cedar City Library and the Cedar City Rotary Club are celebrating the novel "Emma" by Jane Austen. Join the Discussion: A community conversation about the book will take place at the Cedar City Library. Hosted by SUU Community Education, the conversation will be led by Utah Shakespeare Festival Interim Artistic Director Derek Livingston. Get your FREE copy of Emma by Jane Austen by registering for this event. Books are available for pick-up at the Cedar City Library while supplies last. Show your Eventbrite ticket or registration confirmation to library staff to receive your complimentary book. Books are available at no cost due to a generous donation by the Cedar City Rotary Club as part of their goal to support community education and literacy. Facilitator BioDerek Livingston is interim artistic director of new play development for Utah Shakespeare Festival. Prior to joining the festival, he was a director, producer and new play developer. Derek worked at the Los Angeles Celebration Theatre as the managing artistic director, and produced or co-produced more than 40 shows at the San Diego Diversionary Theatre. Separate from the arts, Derek has had an extensive career in social justice work.
