Meet Axle. He is the sweetest boy and people pleaser. There isn’t a mean bone in his body. Great with kids and animals. He is pretty good at herding the farm animals too. He is 5 years old and we absolutely love him! We got him a few months ago from a breeder that kept him locked in a cage all the time. That’s where his problem started. Axle is a Houdini. He likes to run away and is scared to return. We have tried very hard to work with him on recall using lots of positive reinforcement, but we believe that his deep fear of being locked up stem from his years in a cage. We live on a state road with cars going 55+ mph and have already lost a dog in the road. Every time Axle escapes the house or fenced yard I’m worried we will relive that trauma. This is why he needs a new home. A home in the country with lots of space to run and a family that can work with him on recall and trust. Axle is a pure bred akc border collie that I paid several hundred for a couple months ago. However, he is free to good home.
