Volunteer Work Day: Apiary Cleanup

Description

Come join our beekeepers, Daniel Calzadilla and Riki Bonnema, for a morning with the bees. We will start off the morning with a little discussion about beekeeping and gardening for pollinators. Attendees will then help clear the apiary of any debris and weeds, mulch walkways and any other garden work that may be needed to keep our bee area beautiful and healthy. Attendees will be required to sign waivers before entering the apiary and participating in any gardening activities. Please wear comfortable clothing you do not mind getting dirty including closed-toed shoes, water to stay hydrated (we do have a water fountain to refill bottles), and sun protection such as a hat or sunscreen. This event will include kneeling, standing, and other physical movements.
